INFORMATION FOR SHOWS AFFILLIATING TO EAHSC

The following wording should be included in schedules and catalogues:-

This Show is afilliated to the Arab Horse Society and to the European conference of Arab Horse Organisations.  The rules of both organisations apply to Pure Bred In Hand classes but EAHSC Rules take precedence where there could be a clash or conflict.  Other classes at the show are outside the jurisdiction of EAHSC and governed by AHS Rules only.  The ECAHO Disciplinary Committee is responsible for enforcing the EAHSC Rules and the Show Organiser is responsible for enforcing the AHS Rules.

Special influenza vaccination rules for Great Britain

Horses at National Shows in Great Britain do not need an influenza vaccination.

Horses that start at International Shows in Great Britain must comply with the vaccination rules specified in the Blue Book.

Conditions for gaining AHS recommendation to hold an ECAHO show

All ECAHO shows must comply with EAHSC Rules for Affiliated Shows.

All ECAHO shows in GB will be assessed annually prior to AHS recommendation. The Committee reserves the right to refrain from signing the application form if a recommendation is thought to be inappropriate.

To gain AHS recommendation for C status for the first time a show must have been affiliated to the AHS for the previous three years.

For each of those years have had a minimum of 35 horses entered in classes which would be eligible to run under ECAHO rules and 55% of those entries must be forward.

Facilities and geographical location will be included in the assessment.

Existing C shows may lose their recommendation if entries forward in ECAHO classes are less than 25 for two consecutive years or if the show is seriously in breach of AHS or ECAHO rules.

Shows cancelled because of lack of entries are expected to apply for recommendation to C status as if for the first time.

To gain AHS recommendation for C International status a show must have been run as a C show and have been meeting the organisational requirements of EAHSC for the previous three years.

To gain AHS recommendation for B status for the first time a show must have been meeting the organisational requirements of EAHSC for the previous three years.

The organisers must be aware of what is required to run a show of B standard.

A minimum number of 60 horses in classes under ECAHO rules must be forward at the show in the year of application.

Facilities and geographical location will be included in the assessment.
